KAC 3rd Annual BBQ Cook-off |
|
KAHPA is going to have our next general meeting at the KAC 3rd annual BBQ cook-off event on July 16 @ Luther Burbank Park in Mercer Island. For the third year in a row, KAC-WA, KABA and KAHPA will host a cook-off to see who will win the judges' pick for "Baddest Kalbi in the Northwest" and the "People's Choice Kalbi." We are bringing the event back to a local park, and hope you will join us with your families and fri...ends to compete, partake and have some fun! It is an annual event to promote.
Anyone can enter the competition for a chance to win, “Baddest Kalbi in the Northwest” and/or “People’s Choice Kalbi.” In the past, we have had judges such as Haryong Lee, Consul General for the Republic of Korea; Matthew Amster-Burton, Food Writer for The Seattle Times and Gourmet Magazine; Seisuke Kamimura, former Executive Chef, BOKA and Postrio; and Mary Nam, Anchor, KOMO 4 News.
Find the inner chef in you and help us win this kal-bi feasting contest! Recipes, donation kal-bi, and extra help are welcome. $15 is the suggested donation per person.

21st Annual ACRS Walk for Rice |
 Join the KAHPA team to help support the ACRS (Asian Counseling and Referral Service) food bank at the Annual Walk for Rice! We will join up with other KA organizations for this. This walk is held at Seward Park where it brings more than 1,000 community members to fight hunger. Participants can choose to run or walk a 2.5-mile trail while raising money and bringing awareness about hunger to King County.
In order to support this great cause and to show people in our community that we Korean Americans and friends care, KAC-WAhas created a team--please join us!
